6. Hub supervision
Before delivery, the manufacturer shall provide the ex-factory inspection certifcate, acceptance record sheet, material spectral analysis report, non-destructive inspection report, fnite element analysis report, mechanical performance report, dimensional inspection report, and other documents of the hub. The data of hub detection shall meet the requirements of ISO 4992, and ultrasonic non-destructive tests should follow EN 12680-3:2012. Before the bolt installation, quality reports including compliance certifcates, acceptance record sheets, and inspection reports, etc., shall be inspected.
The results should meet the requirements of EN 14399:2005.
After the WTGS is put into operation for one month or 500 h (adopting the frst reach time), the preload torque value shall be inspected. Verify that the preload torque value of connecting bolts between blades and hub comply with the requirements of the product supplier.
When the WTGS is put into operation for three months, all the connecting bolts torque of each part shall be fastened. Supervision items to be implemented every six months are as follows:
— Inspecting hub and hub cover. The surface shall be clean, free from cracks, no peeling of antiseptic paint, and sealings in good condition. The hub nose shall connect well and be in the normal position.
— Random quality inspection of bolt torque. Sampling rate shall be over 10% and the pass rate shall be 100%.
If any bolt preload torque does not meet the value set by the equipment supplier, all bolts shall be inspected. If the failure rate from all inspected bolts is equal or more than 30%, non-destructive test should be implemented on bolts connecting hub and blade, hub and main shaft, and replace those in risk. After operating over four years, a fatigue test shall be implemented on the connecting bolts between the hub and blades, and between the hub and the main shaft every three years. A non-destructive test should be implemented on the pitch bearings.
The bolt tests shall be carried out in accordance with EN 14399:2005 and ultrasonic non-destructive tests should be carried out in accordance with ISO 4992-1:2006. The sampling rate at the same position of each WTGS shall not be lower than 2%, and the passing rate shall be 100%.
If any problem is found, all bolts at the same position of each WTGS shall be replaced.
7. Pitch system supervision
7.1 General supervision items on pitch system
Pitch system can be classifed to hydraulic pitch system and electric pitch system based on the control principles.
The following supervision items shall be implemented before installation:
— The ring gear and gear shall pass the type acceptance test, including clearance test, loading test,transmission effcient test, temperature rise test, vibration test, noise test, fatigue test, etc. The result should meet the requirements of ISO 1328-1:2013 and ISO 1328-2:1997.
— Electric motor shall pass the type acceptance test, including electrical test. The machine shall be graded according to IEC 60034-1:2017, and the effciency shall be test according to IEC 60034-2-1:2014.
The following inspections items shall be implemented every six months:
— Inspect the pitch bearings, the surface should be clean, the anticorrosive coating shall not fall off, the lubrication and sealing shall function well; the pitch ring gear and gear shall be free from any corrosive pitting, corrosion, broken gear teeth, unnecessariness, or any other material failing.
— Inspect the system protection stoppers, the threshold value shall be set correct; meanwhile the passing rate of protection action shall be 100%.
— In emergency shutdown mode, the stopper shall function well.
7.2 Hydraulic pitch system supervision
Supervision items to be verifed before installation:
— The quality of hydraulic system on the component assembly, automatic control, easy maintenance,reliability, effciency, and safety shall maintain ISO 4413:2010, and the cleanliness shall follow ISO 18413:2015.
